Growing up in a close-knit Italian-American family in Peekskill, New York, Biagio Maffettone learned early the importance of hard work, family, faith, and responsibility.
His parents ran a small tailor shop, with his father working as the craftsman and his mother by his side. They did not have much, but they had each other. The example they set became the foundation for many of the values that would guide Biagio throughout his life.
When Biagio started school, he did not speak English. He remembers what it felt like not to belong and to sit quietly while trying to understand the world around him. It was an experience that became one of his earliest lessons in perseverance. His father taught him the value of hard work, while his mother gave him the love and support that helped him find his footing.
As he grew older, Biagio came to understand that success is earned through persistence, humility, discipline, and continuous growth. He began working at a young age and developed a strong desire to do things well, regardless of whether anyone was watching.
When he became the first in his family to attend college, that achievement represented more than personal success. It represented the sacrifices his parents had made and the opportunities their hard work had created for the next generation.
Biagio worked multiple jobs while studying and ultimately graduated magna cum laude from Boston College before earning an MBA in Finance and Investments from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College.
His education became another important part of a journey built around effort, responsibility, and the belief that opportunities should never be taken for granted.

After college, Biagio built his professional career in the mortgage industry, where he has now spent more than two decades helping individuals, families, investors, and business owners navigate important financial decisions.
His experience spans residential and commercial lending, including first-time home purchases, FHA and VA financing, jumbo loans, refinancing, investment properties, new construction, renovation, and more complex transactions. He has also held senior sales leadership positions within the mortgage industry.
Over the course of his career, Biagio has received professional recognition, including being named a Five Star Mortgage Professional for 14 consecutive years. While those accomplishments are meaningful, he views the trust of the people he has worked with as one of the most important measures of his career.
His approach has remained simple: listen first, understand the person behind the transaction, communicate clearly, and treat clients with the same care and respect he would give to his own family.
